The I-4 eastbound exit ramp to Kathleen Road (Exit #31) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 16 through Friday, July 18 for delivery of materials. DETOUR: Motorists wanting to exit at Kathleen Road should follow the posted detour and exit at US 92 (Exit 28), head east to Wabash Avenue (US 92) then south to George Jenkins Boulevard, then east to Kathleen Road (SR 539).

Eastbound motorists exiting I-4 at US 98 (Exit #32) will notice a new traffic pattern on the exit ramp when heading south on US 98. While the two left turns lanes heading north onto US 98 remain the same, the right turn lane headed south on US 98 has been shifted onto temporary pavement closer to the left turn lanes. 

Pedestrians should follow the sidewalk detours and temporary crosswalks at the I-4 ramps located south of I-4, while crews work in the area. Use caution and follow the detour signs.

Expect northbound and southbound nighttime/overnight lane closures south of I-4 and daytime lane closures north of I-4. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

Week of Sunday, July 13 through Saturday, July 19, 2025:

South 20th Avenue in Haines City will be closed to through traffic at night/overnight tonight from midnight until approximately 6 a.m., Tuesday, July 15. Local traffic will have access to South 20th Street from Carol Avenue, but through traffic will have to use South 21st Street as an alternate route.

Work is located on the south end on South 20th Street near East Grace Avenue, so the westbound lane of East Grace Avenue will also be closed with flaggers directing traffic from Hillview to South 21st Street. The lane and road closures are necessary to perform maintenance work on underground utilities. Use caution and note that the posted speed limit on East Grace Avenue has been reduced to 15 mph during this operation.

This week workers will continue installing drainage and water lines along the east side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard.

• East Bella Vista Street, east of Lakeland Hills Boulevard, will be closed at the intersection. Motorists will be detoured at East Crawford Street to Gilmore Avenue back to East Bella Vista Street through Friday, July 18.
• Traffic remains in one lane in each direction but is now shifted to the west side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard so crews can continue underground drainage and utility work.
• Watch for side street closures along the east side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard as crews work to install new storm drains and water lines. Any side street closures will utilize the adjacent side streets to route traffic east towards Gilmore Avenue to the respective closed street.
• Traffic will remain in one lane in each direction for most of the duration of construction.
• The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph during construction.
• Use caution, be prepared to merge or stop, and plan for delays.

SR 70 from Lorraine Road to Bourneside Boulevard, Bradenton: Construction project: This project includes widening SR 70 from Lorraine Road to Bourneside Boulevard from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane or six-lane divided roadway, depending on the location, construction of roundabouts on SR 70 at Uihlein Road, Del Webb Boulevard, and Bourneside Boulevard, intersection improvements at the existing signalized intersection of Greenbrook Boulevard and Lorraine Road, construction of four bridges over two Braden River crossing locations, new drainage system, construction of 10-foot shared use paths, street lighting, and landscaping, and installation of new fiber optic cable connecting the two signalized intersections to Manatee County’s regional Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS).

This week’s work will consist of:

• Crews will install lighting and ITS conduit and light poles Lorraine Road and Uihlein Road.

• Crews will import and grade roadway base material between Uihlein Road and Greenbrook Boulevard.

• Crews will pave eastbound lanes between Uihlein Road and Greenbrook Boulevard.

• Sod will be placed along the outside swales for eastbound SR 70 between Uihlein Road and Bourneside Boulevard.

• Clearing of existing vegetation will occur between Bourneside Boulevard and Polo Run on the north side of SR 70.

• Embankment hauling will occur between Bourneside Boulevard and Polo Run on the north side of SR 70. Trucks will be crossing current SR 70 travel lanes. Please be aware of flaggers stopping traffic for this crossing.

Please use caution and watch for trucks and construction vehicles entering or exiting the work zone throughout the construction limits. Work will occur Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please use caution and be aware of workers and flaggers in the area.

SR 70 from Bourneside Boulevard to Waterbury Road, Bradenton: Construction project: This project includes widening SR 70 from Bourneside Boulevard to Waterbury Road from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway, Safety features will include roundabouts to be constructed at 197th Street East/Lindrick Lane, 213th Street East, 225th Street East/Panther Ridge Trail and County Road 675/Waterbury Road. The project will also include the installation of a new drainage system, new curb and gutter, construction of 10-foot shared-use paths and 5-foot paved shoulders on both sides of the roadway, street lighting throughout the project and landscaping inside the roundabouts.

This week’s work will consist of:

·         Grade for the future shared-use path and roadway on the south side of SR 70 between 197th Street and Meadow Dove Lane.

·         Drainage work will continue with the installation of underground storm drainage pipe on the north side of SR 70 at CR 675.

·         Future eastbound construction will continue with stabilized subgrade and base construction between 213th Street and Panther Ridge Trail, on the south side of SR 70.

·         Drainage swale grading will continue between 225th Street and Meadow Dove Lane, and west of Lindrick Lane on the south side of SR 70.

·         Utility relocation work will occur on the North side of SR 70 on the shoulder.

·         Installation of concrete foundations and pull boxes for future lighting on the south side of SR 70 from Lindrick Lane to Meadow Dove Lane.

·         Traffic has been shifted between Lindrick Lane and 213th Street to new eastbound lanes. Please use caution when traveling through the area as the lane alignment has changed. The speed limit has been reduced in this area to 35 MPH. This shift is occurring to construct the north section of a box culvert at the future pond location.

In the upcoming months, Lindrick Lane, 213th Street, Pather Ridge Trail, and Meadow Dove Lane will be closed at SR 70 to construct the south portions of each intersection’s roundabout. The north side of these intersections will not be impacted. These closures are tentatively planned to begin in late summer and will occur one at a time, with no concurrent closures. Detours and message boards will be provided, and advanced notice with specific closure dates will be provided once available.

I-75 at SR 951 (exit 101) Interchange Improvements: FDOT is reconstructing the I-75 southbound on- and off-ramp connections and the northbound on-ramp connection to the mainline lanes at SR 951 (exit 101). The northeast quadrant loop ramp will be connected to, and accessible only by, a direct flyover ramp from northbound Collier Boulevard starting south of the Davis Boulevard intersection. This single-lane flyover ramp will carry traffic over Beck Boulevard and a reconstructed I-75 southbound on-ramp. A single-lane flyover ramp extension will carry I-75 southbound traffic over Davis Boulevard to a new signalized intersection at Collier Boulevard and Business Circle North. This ramp will extend along the western side of Collier Boulevard. 

The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions. 

• OVERNIGHT BECK BOULEVARD DETOUR SCHEDULED 7/15 and 7/16:   

  • During the nighttime/overnight hours of 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16, Beck Boulevard is scheduled to be temporarily closed at Collier Boulevard (SR/CR 951). This closure is necessary for crews to do a bridge deck pour. 

  • To accommodate access during these closures, a temporary roadway connection has been constructed just north of Beck Boulevard at Tollhouse Drive. There will be no direct southbound or westbound traffic through the intersection during these closures. 

    • Motorists traveling westbound on Beck Boulevard will turn north on Tollgate Boulevard to west on Tollhouse Drive to travel north on Collier Boulevard. 

    • To access Beck Boulevard from Collier Boulevard northbound motorists must turn right on the temporary Tollhouse Drive extension to south on Tollgate Boulevard. 

• Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures for southbound and northbound CR 951/Collier Boulevard during nighttime/overnight hours for crews to move equipment, deliver materials, and construct the overhead bridge work. 

• Motorists should expect both northbound and southbound CR 951/Collier Boulevard travel lanes to shift from Business Circle South to I-75 to create work zones for crews to construct the elevated roadway. 

• Motorists should expect the outside right turn lane from southbound SR 951 to westbound SR 84/Davis Boulevard closed.  Drivers can continue to turn right from the remaining open turn lane.  This closure is needed for crews to begin work for the bridge foundation installation and will remain in place through job completion. 

• Pedestrians should expect a sidewalk closure along SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) just west of SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) and along SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) between SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) and Business Circle North. Pedestrians may use SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) to Market Street to Business Circle South to access SR 951 (Collier Boulevard). 

• Motorists are advised that the SR 84 (Davis Boulevard) eastbound direct access ramp heading south to SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) is permanently closed. The eastbound to southbound right turn will be available at the intersection. 

• Motorists should expect reduced lane widths for southbound Collier Boulevard between Business Circle North and Business Circle South.

Sunday, July 13th to Saturday, July 19th:

Lane Closure: Beginning Sunday, July 13, through Thursday, July 17, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. motorists should expect single lane closures along San Carlos Boulevard as crews work on bridge joints across Hurricane Pass Bridge.

During construction, motorists should expect intermittent nighttime/overnight lane closures.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone.

I-75 at Pine Ridge Road (exit 107) Interchange Improvements: FDOT is reconstructing the I-75 at Pine Ridge Road interchange. The interchange improvements include reconstruction of the Pine Ridge Road Interchange converting to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) design, reconstruction of the interchange on and off ramps, construction of pedestrian and bicycle accommodations through the interchange, installation of new signals at the ramps, and resurfacing of Pine Ridge Road through the project area. 

The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions. 

• On Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16, during the nighttime/overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., motorists should anticipate lane closures on the eastbound Pine Ridge Road for crews to remove poles. Please use extra caution when driving through this area and expect delays.  

• Please note that the westbound lanes of Pine Ridge Road have shifted one lane to the south, and traffic on the southbound off-ramp has shifted one lane to the east.  

• Crews will be working on drainage installation and roadway work.  

• Crews will be working on clearing and grubbing and installing erosion control throughout the project area.

SR 29 and SR 90 (US 41) Resurfacing and Road Improvements: FDOT is resurfacing SR 29 from north of Wagon Wheel Road to south of I-75, and SR 90 (US 41) from south of Southwest Boulevard to north of Thomasson Drive in Collier County. Improvements to both SR 29 and US 41 include milling and resurfacing, shoulder improvements and new signing and pavement markings. Additional improvements to US 41 include reconstruction of concrete sidewalks, replacement of curbs and installation of pedestrian curb ramps, and replacement of traffic signal detection loops. 

The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances. 

• Motorists should anticipate lane closures throughout the duration of construction.  

Work on US 41:  

• Crews will be working on milling and paving. Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists. 

Work on SR 29:  

• Crews will be working on mowing and litter removal.  

Crews are working close to the roadway. Please exercise caution in the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, and anticipate delays. The expected completion date is December 2025. 

Sanibel Causeway Emergency Restoration: Crews are completing final items west of the toll plaza.  The 35 MPH speed limit has been restored west of the toll plaza.  Reduced speed limits remain enforced east of the toll plaza. Pedestrians are not permitted on the Sanibel Causeway.   

The following work activities above are scheduled to occur, however unforeseen underground conditions and weather may affect this schedule. 

• Motorists should be aware of continuing work along the frontage road under Span A. 

• The contractor continues work to restore the staging area at Punta Rassa in preparation for handing the area back over to Lee County later this summer. 

• Motorists are advised that when traveling on island Bay 3 remains closed for Lee County to continue work on toll equipment. 

• The contractor is installing signage and lighting east of the toll plaza. 

• Work by others: Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation continues to monitor Least Tern nesting on the Causeway and continues work on the north side of McGregor Boulevard for mangrove restoration.  For more information visit:  www.sccf.org. 

All users are urged to be courteous and pay attention as bicyclists share the road on the Causeway and vehicles are entering and existing at public beach access points of the Causeway Islands Park. Visitors may check www.leegov.com/parks for updated park and Punta Rassa boat ramp information.   

SR 572 from Airport Road to Pipkin Creek Road and SR 572 Roundabout at Waring Road: Construction project: Project improvements include resurfacing and lane widening on SR 572 and a new roundabout at Waring Road. This week, crews will work on roadway grading, utilities, and lighting installation.

• On July 7, 2025, crews closed the north side of Waring Road and exit 4 of the Polk Parkway. A detour route is available to access Drane Field Road eastbound and westbound from the south side of Waring Road, exit 3, and exit 5 of the Polk Parkway. The closure will be in place until late December 2025.
• Motorists should expect lane closures through the duration of the construction.
• Resurfacing project – expect lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Roundabout – expect lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Motorists should expect lane shifts through the duration of the construction.
• Crews are working on installing well points and pipe underneath driveways along SR 572. Lane shifts may occur. This work will occur intermittently throughout the next three weeks.
• Drivers should exercise caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway through the duration of the construction.

Variable message signs will be in place to alert drivers that work is underway. Estimated completion is Spring 2026.

US 27 (SR 25) at SR 78 Intersection: Construction project: Crews will be reconstructing the intersection with concrete pavement. Other improvements include milling, resurfacing, drainage, guardrail, signing, and pavement markings. Please use caution in the area and watch for workers, traffic signage, detours, and equipment throughout the project.

Beginning on June 22, 2025, and continuing through August 22, 2025, SR 78 will be closed between US 27 and Industrial Drive for roadway reconstruction. Both eastbound and westbound turn lanes from US 27 to SR 78 will be closed during this time. Traffic traveling to and from SR 78 should follow posted signage and use Industrial Drive as a detour route.  

Estimated completion is fall 2025.

This project is now complete with no more anticipated lane closures.

I-75 and SR 70: Landscape project: FDOT will be installing landscaping and associated irrigation within the interchange this summer through early fall. Motorists can expect occasional shoulder closures on SR 70 and I-75 ramps as tree and plant material are being offloaded (no landscape to be installed on the interstate). Please use caution in the area.

SR 25 (US 27) from South of Horn Road to South of Shoreline Drive: Construction project: Crews have begun milling, resurfacing, and widening the roadway. The project includes enhancing drainage, installing and upgrading guardrails, and adding concrete pavement markings and signage.

• Motorists should expect daytime and nighttime lane closures on the northbound and southbound outside lanes of US 27, as well as construction activity at the intersection of SR 70.
• Motorists should use caution, follow posted signs, and watch for workers and equipment in the construction zone.

            Estimated completion is expected in early 2026.

US 98 (State Road 700) from East of Floral Drive to East of County Road 621: Construction project: Crews have started to mill, resurface, and widen the roadway. The project includes enhancing drainage, installing Shoulder closures will be in place on both northbound and southbound US 98 for drainage improvements from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• US 98 will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations to allow for shoulder grading and sod placement.
• Motorists should use caution in the area and watch for workers and equipment in the construction zone and upgrading guardrails and updating signage.

 Estimated completion is expected in late 2025.

SR 70 from Peace River to Southeast Baker Street: Construction project: Crews will reconstruct approximately 3.4 miles of SR 70 within the City of Arcadia. The project includes the installation of new drainage facilities, relocation and addition of sanitary and water main utilities, upgrading traffic signals, reconstructing sidewalks, and installing street lighting in various locations. During construction, lane closures will occur on SR 70. Temporary pedestrian pathways are in place while sidewalks are under construction. Detours will be implemented while crews work on side roads. Please follow posted signage and use caution in the area.

• Eastbound SR 70 traffic is currently using the north lane up to Lee Avenue. Between Lee Avenue and Dade Avenue, traffic shifts to the south lane and continues in the south lane until Roger Avenue, where it shifts back to the north lane, utilizing the preexisting westbound south lane.
• Westbound SR 70 traffic remains on the north side of the roadway until Volusia Avenue, where it shifts to the south lane. Between Manatee Avenue and Dade Avenue, traffic shifts back to the north lane.
• Westbound SR 70 traffic between Volusia Avenue and Dade Avenue is expected to shift from the south side to the north lane in approximately one month.
• Crews continue paving and installing curb, sidewalk, and drainage structures. Intermittent side street closures and flagging operations are in effect throughout the corridor.
• Pedestrian access is maintained via temporary walkways in active sidewalk construction areas.
• Motorists should expect delays, follow posted signage, and use caution in the construction zone.

Estimated completion is early to mid-2027. 

Clark Road (SR 72) from Honore Avenue to West of Gantt Road: Construction project: The Florida Department of Transportation will commence milling, resurfacing, installing curb, gutter, drainage and pavement markings on less than one-half mile on Clark Road (SR 72) from Honore Avenue to west of Gantt Road in Sarasota County in June.

• Motorists can expect intermittent single- and dual-lane closures overnight throughout the project.
• Please watch for signs, barricades and workers close to the travel lanes and obey posted speed limits in the construction zone.
• The Palmer Crossing Mall entrance off Clark Road at Chick-fil-A /Shell gas station/Jimmy John’s will have a temporary road closure starting on July 11 that will continue for approximately three months. Patrons can access the businesses via two other entrances to the mall off Clark Road and two entrances off Honore
• The project’s estimated completion is in mid-2026.

SR 45 (Tamiami Trail) from South of Morningside Drive to North of Saint Pierre Road: Construction Project: The improvements under this contract include milling and resurfacing of the roadway and upgrading the signing and pavement markings.

• During construction, motorists should expect daytime and nighttime/overnight lane closures.
• Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone.

SR 45 (US 41) from Peace River Bridge (010050) to south of Charlotte Avenue: Construction Project: The improvements under this contract include milling and resurfacing of the roadway, upgrading signing and pavement markings, and traffic loops.

• During construction, motorists should expect nighttime/overnight lane closures on SR 45 (US 41) southbound from the Peace River Bridge to south of Charlotte Avenue.
  • Motorists should anticipate potential delays at streets intersecting SR 45 (US 41) southbound.
  • Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone.

SR 777 River Road from I-75 to US 41: Construction project:  Road embankment installation continues on the northbound roadway from Aucilla Drive to US 41. As embankment is completed, drainage installations, subgrade mixing, curb placement, and roadway grading will continue. Sod installation, signal, ITS, and lighting work are ongoing. Noise wall installation at the Caribbean Village Community will continue until complete. Trucks will be crossing the road at various locations using intermittent flagging operations. Pothole maintenance will continue as necessary on all current travel ways through the project.

SR 31 at CR 74 (Bermont Road) Roundabout Construction: Construction project: These improvements will include constructing a roundabout, milling and resurfacing, upgrading drainage, installing new lighting, adding landscaping, signing and pavement marking. Throughout construction, motorists should expect intermittent daytime and nighttime/overnight lane closures.

•  Motorists should expect to see crews performing work during the daytime hours, beginning Monday, July 14, through Thursday, July 17, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Crews will be installing curb pads, concrete curbs and truck aprons.
• Motorists should expect to see crews performing work during the daytime hours on Friday, July 18, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Crews will be installing curb pads, concrete curbs and truck aprons.

· The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.

I-75 From South of Bonita Beach Road to North of Alico: Construction Project: Nighttime Lane closure operations will continue Sunday Nights through Thursday Nights for resurfacing operations for the next few months.

• Beginning Sunday night, July 13, motorists can expect the northbound RSW Off-Ramp (RSW Direct Connect) to the Terminal Access Road to be closed during the nighttime/overnight hours for paving. Motorists will need to utilize the posted detour.

  • Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 who want to access the Terminal Access Road can detour to Alico Road (Exit 128) eastbound and then travel northbound on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway until they reach Terminal Access Road.

  • Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 who want to access the Terminal Access Road can detour to Daniels Parkway (Exit 131) eastbound and then travel southbound on Treeline Avenue until they reach Terminal Access Road.

• Beginning Monday, July 14, through Tuesday, July 15, 2025, motorists can expect the northbound Collector Distributor Ramp and lanes to be closed during the nighttime/overnight hours for paving. Motorists will need to utilize the posted detour.

• Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 who want to access the Collector Distributor northbound towards the airport can detour to Alico Road (Exit 128) eastbound and then travel northbound on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway until they reach Terminal Access Road.

  • Motorists should expect to see daytime outside shoulder closures of the northbound and southbound shoulders between the Estero Parkway overpasses and Corkscrew Road interchange (MM 124 to MM 123). This is for contractor access for box culvert cleanout and maintenance.

  • Daytime activities will include installation of sign bases and conduit installation for I.T.S. items.

    • This work will be performed during the daytime from inside the right-of-way, away from the travel lanes or behind shoulder closures as needed.

• The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

US 41 (Tamiami Trail) from William Street to Peace River Bridge: Construction Project: 

• The contractor will perform drainage work at the intersection of Rhetta Esplanade and northbound US 41, which will require the closure of the side street and detour of traffic. Motorists should follow the posted detour.

• Motorists should expect double lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours while the contractor is milling and paving the right lane of SR 45 (US 41) Northbound from Virginia Avenue to Marion Street.

SR 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to SR 78 (Bayshore Road): Construction Project:

• Motorists should expect full-time lane closures on the middle double left turn lane on SR 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to SR 78.
• Motorists should expect the inside lanes to be closed on both northbound and southbound SR 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to SR 78.
• Motorists can expect nighttime/overnight right lane closures on SR 739 southbound and northbound from approximately Pine Island Road to Pondella Road. Work will occur between the hours of 7 p.m. through 7 a.m. Crews will be performing water main relocations.
• Over the next few weeks motorists traveling on SR 739 will not be able to access Becker Drive and they should follow the posted detour:
  • Motorists should continue on SR 739 until they reach West Mariana Avenue, then turn right (north) into Beachwood Drive, and then right again (east) to access Becker Drive.
  • Motorists wanting to access SR 739 from Becker Drive will still be able to make this movement
• Motorists should use caution as crews work on and near the roadway.
• Motorists should continue to expect the northbound SR 739 right turn-lane to eastbound SR 78 to be temporarily shifted beginning 7 p.m. During this temporary turn-lane shift, drivers can still access eastbound SR 78 via the eastbound right turn-lane but should expect to share the turn-lane with a work zone.
  • Motorists should expect this temporary eastbound turn-lane shift to last an estimated two weeks.

SR 865 (San Carlos Boulevard) from Linda Loma Drive to Kelly Road: Construction Project: The purpose of this project is to provide improvements along SR 865 with the intent of enhancing safety along the corridor.

• During construction, motorists should expect daytime and nighttime/overnight lane closures.

• Motorists should expect several left and right-turn lanes to be closed along the project limits.

• Motorists should expect a traffic shift on SR 865 northbound between Linda Loma Drive and Kelly Road for crews to facilitate concrete placement. Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone.

US 41 Business (9th Street West) from 6th Avenue to Manatee Avenue/SR 64: Construction project: The improvements consist of milling and resurfacing, drainage upgrades, modification and removal of a left turn lane, signalization, lighting, and signing and pavement markings. Single-lane closures will occur throughout the project through completion.

• Please be alert for intermittent lane closures overnight as the contractor performs drainage improvements, signal, lighting, and resurfacing operations.
• Median work on US 41 Business northbound from 6th Avenue West to Manatee Avenue/SR 64 will continue with  intermittent lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. throughout the project. Please use caution or plan to use an alternate route.
• The left-hand turn lane going northbound on US 41 Business from 6th Avenue West to Manatee Avenue/SR 64 westbound has been permanently closed. As an alternate route, motorists wanting to go westbound on Manatee Avenue/SR 64 can turn left on 8th  Avenue West and turn right onto 10th Street West northbound and then make a left onto Manatee Avenue/SR 64.
• Project completion is expected mid-2025.

CR 664 from East of Pool Road to North of Palm Drive: Construction project: Crews have begun work on CR 664 from East of Pool Road to North Palm Drive to remove and replace Bridge No. 060034 over Little Payne Creek.

• Expect a full road closure on CR 664 between East of Pool Road and North Palm Drive starting January 6, 2025, lasting approximately 250 days.
• A detour route is in place to guide motorists safely around the construction zone. Access will be maintained for local traffic only.
• Completion is expected in late 2025.

SR 64 from 10th Street East to Braden River: Construction project: Crews are working on milling and resurfacing, adding drainage improvements, replacing guardrails, new pedestrian signals, temporary and permanent electrical improvements, pavement reconstruction, sidewalks and curb and ramp reconstruction, signing and pavement markings, signalization, and lighting.

• Pedestrians can expect detours throughout the project and are encouraged to use caution.
• Motorists can expect lane closures overnight, starting after 7:30 p.m. for milling and resurfacing.
• Project completion is anticipated for mid-2025, weather permitting.

US 301 from 25th Court East to 13th Avenue East: Construction project: Crews are in the final stages of a 7.6-mile improvement project consisting of milling and resurfacing the roadway, widening in areas, base work, curb and gutter, sidewalk, guardrail, drainage improvements, bridge expansion joints, signalization, and pavement marking.

• Motorists can expect daytime shoulder closures along US 301 for shoulder construction at intersections between 25th Court East and 13th Avenue East.
• Motorists can expect intermittent nighttime shoulder widening at various intersections Sunday through Thursday for the next few weeks.
• Motorists can expect nighttime paving with flagging operations to resume at various intersections throughout the project.
•  The project’s completion is expected fall of 2025.

SR 80 from Buckingham Road to Hendry County Line: Construction project: Crews will be milling and resurfacing 9.5 miles of roadway, shoulder widening, turnout construction, guardrail, drainage, signing and pavement markings and installing intelligent transportation systems.

• Motorists should expect the turn lane into Tractor Supply off State Road 80 to be temporarily closed.

• Temporary closure of Cristobal Drive has been placed into effect.

SR 78 (Pine Island Road) from west of Chiquita Boulevard to west of Santa Barbara Boulevard: Construction Project: During construction, motorists should expect daytime and nighttime work with intermittent nighttime/overnight lane closures.

• Motorists should expect nighttime/overnight lane closures as crews begin paving operations on the mainline and the new traffic signals are hung at Nicholas Parkway, Chiquita Boulevard, and the Hancock Bridge Parkway intersection.
• Motorists traveling eastbound on Pine Island Road will not be able to access the left (northbound) turn lane onto Southwest 10th Place. Motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
  • Motorists traveling eastbound SR 78 attempting to access Southwest 10th Place are encouraged to continue eastbound until they reach Nicholas Parkway and U-turn at the intersection. They can then continue westbound until they reach Southwest 10th Place.
• Motorists traveling westbound on Pine Island Road will not be able to access the left (southbound) turn lane onto Skyline Boulevard. Motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
  • Motorists traveling westbound SR 78 attempting to access Skyline Boulevard are encouraged to continue westbound until they reach Chiquita Boulevard and U-turn at the intersection. They can then continue eastbound until they reach Skyline Boulevard.

· The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

SR 758/Bee Ridge Road at the Legacy Trail: Construction project: Crews are constructing two new pedestrian bridges and intersection improvements along the Legacy Trail in Sarasota County.

• Limited opening: The Bee Ridge Bridge span is open for cyclists and pedestrians but is still an active construction zone. While the bridge is open, the pedestrian staircases are not yet complete. Please be aware of the potential for workers and construction vehicles in the area.
•  Lane closures: As the project is finalized, there will be occasional daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Friday, July 11, there will be multiple lane closures in both directions overnight on Bee Ridge Road to pave the intersection   under the pedestrian/bicycle overpass.
• Final project completion is expected late July 2025.

SR 72/Clark Road and the Legacy Trail: 

Construction project: Crews are constructing two new pedestrian bridges and intersection improvements along the Legacy Trail in Sarasota County.

• Limited opening: The Clark Road Bridge span is open for cyclists and pedestrians but is still an active construction zone. While the bridge is open, the pedestrian staircases are not yet complete. Please be aware of the potential for workers and construction vehicles in the area.
• Lane closures:  As the project is finalized, there will be occasional daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tentatively,  on July 17 or 18, there will be multiple lane closures in both directions on Clark Road to pave the intersection under the pedestrian/bicycle overpass.
• Project completion is expected in early August 2025.

SR 82 from the Hendry County Line to Gator Slough Lane: Construction Project: 

Motorists should expect intermittent southbound and northbound lane closures during the daytime and nighttime/overnight hours throughout the duration of the project.

• Work consists of bridge construction, adding lanes and reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, drainage, grass median, sidewalk, guardrail, shared-use path, detention ponds excavation, signalization, lighting, and signing and pavement markings.
• Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, and embankment construction on westbound and eastbound of the roadway. Crews will be performing bridge deck construction on the westbound of the roadway.
  • Motorists should anticipate lane closures with flagging operations on State Road 82.
  • Frequent and brief flagging operations are taking place throughout the day to assist trucks in safely crossing the road within project limits
• Moss Solar is putting up a solar energy field just East of the project limits. They will have numerous trucks from now until mid to late July delivering the solar equipment out to their site, in addition to 200-300 project personnel traveling through the SR 82 corridor beginning sometime in July.
• The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
• Motorists should use caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway throughout the duration of the project. The estimated completion Date is January 2027.

SR 35 (US 17) from Tamiami Trail (US 41) to Bermont Road: Construction project - The contractor is continuing to mill and repave SR 35 (US 17) from SR 45 (US-41 northbound) to Dupont Street and on Marion Avenue. Motorists should expect nighttime/overnight double lane closures.

• Motorists should expect daytime lane closures on SR 35 (US 17) eastbound and westbound for the installation of guardrail.
• On State Road 35 (US 17) between US 41 (SR 45) southbound and Marlympia Way, the concrete removal and pouring of sidewalks will be taking place.
• The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.
