Sanibel Causeway Emergency Restoration: Crews are completing final items west of the toll plaza. Work continues east of the toll plaza.

Motorists should use caution as crews complete final work activities along the shoulder of the Causeway.
Motorists and bicyclists are urged to be courteous and pay attention as bicyclists share the road on the Causeway.
The Causeway Islands Park is now open to the public. Motorists and beachgoers should be aware of vehicles slowing and entering and exiting at near beach entrances. Please check www.leegov.com/parks for updated information.

East of the Toll Plaza:
Motorists should expect off-island traffic to be shifted to the outside toll plaza lane and Punta Rassa Road traffic entering McGregor Boulevard eastbound to be shifted to the south side of the traffic separator (normal configuration) by Friday, May 2.
Motorists should be aware of a slow-moving water truck on McGregor Boulevard irrigating the newly installed sod.
Final paving of McGregor Boulevard is scheduled for later this month. More details will be released as they become available.

Many oversized vehicles are crossing the causeway to assist with recovery efforts on the island. Please be patient as travel may be slower than usual. Pedestrians are not permitted on the Sanibel Causeway. MOTORISTS ARE REMINDED TO OBEY THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 20 MPH THROUGHOUT THE WORK ZONE.
