The contractor will be working off the roadway with no scheduled lane closures this week. 

This week the contractor will install drainage pipes at the I-4 exit ramps requiring lane closures and detours. All dates are subject to change depending on weather or other unforeseen conditions.

·       Expect daytime lane closures north of I-4 as crews work on miscellaneous punch list items. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

·       Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures throughout the project both north and southbound while crews continue nightly paving and concrete work Monday through Thursday nights. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

·       All four ramps at U.S. 98 and I-4 (Exit # 32) may be closed with traffic detoured. Watch for closure and detour signs.

DETOURS DURING RAMP CLOSURES

During the I-4 EXIT RAMP closures: Eastbound and Westbound I-4 motorists wanting to access U.S. 98 will exit I-4 at Kathleen Road (Exit #31), head north on Kathleen Road to Griffin Road and turn right (east) back to U.S. 98.

During I-4 ENTRANCE RAMP closures: U.S. 98 motorists wanting to access Interstate 4 will head west on Griffin Road to Kathleen Road, turn left (south) on Kathleen Road to access Interstate 4 in either direction. Note: Northbound motorists north of Griffin Road will make a U-Turn at Crevasse Street to head south toward Griffin Road and follow the same detour.

Expect lane closures with flaggers directing traffic on both S.R. 17 and South 3rd Street for drainage structure and roadway work. Be prepared to merge or stop.

This week workers will continue installing new water mains along the east side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard and new drainage along Gilmore Avenue. Roadway crews will continue spreading & grading lime rock base for the new northbound lanes between Parkview Place and Granda Street.

·       Gilmore Avenue remains closed from Parkview Place to Julius T. Horney Drive through late November. The closure is necessary as crews install new water pipe, sanitary pipe, and storm drains along Gilmore Avenue. Follow posted detour signs to navigate around the closure.

·       Watch for side street closures along the east side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard as crews work to install new storm drains and water lines. Any side street closures will utilize the adjacent side streets to route traffic east towards Gilmore Avenue to the respective closed street.

·       Traffic will remain in one lane in each direction for most of the duration of construction. Use caution, be prepared to merge or stop, and plan for delays.

·       The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph during construction.

Crews will begin placing construction signs and erosion control devices and removing the delineators and replacing them with barrels at the intersection with Lee Jackson Highway on Monday, December 1.

Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday night, December 1 through Thursday night, December 4. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

Expect daytime lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, and be prepared to merge.

Crews will continue drainage improvements on South Eastside Drive and near Coral Way.

South Eastside Drive remains closed at Combee Road through mid-December. Motorists are detoured using East Main Street. Combee Road traffic will not be affected by the closure.

Expect lane closures on Combee Road at night with flaggers directing traffic at night/overnight through Saturday, December 6.  Use caution and be prepared to stop.
