SR 29 and SR 90 (US 41) Resurfacing and Road Improvements: FDOT is resurfacing SR 29 from north of Wagon Wheel Road to south of I-75, and SR 90 (US 41) from south of Southwest Boulevard to north of Thomasson Drive in Collier County. Improvements to both SR 29 and US 41 include milling and resurfacing, shoulder improvements and new signing and pavement markings. Additional improvements to US 41 include reconstruction of concrete sidewalks, replacement of curbs and installation of pedestrian curb ramps, and replacement of traffic signal detection loops.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
Motorists should anticipate lane closures throughout the duration of construction.
Work on US 41:
Crews will be working on milling, paving and striping during nighttime/overnight hours with lane closures anticipated from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists.
Work on SR 29:
Crews will be working on mowing, litter removal and sod installation.
Crews are working close to the roadway. Please exercise caution in the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, and anticipate delays. The expected completion date is early 2026.

US 41 from West of Lychee Road to South of East Bay Street: Construction project: Crews are milling and resurfacing US 41 from west of Lychee Road to south of East Bay Street in Sarasota County. In addition to resurfacing, crews will perform shoulder treatment and apply new signing and pavement markings. The project limits cover approximately 3.1 miles.
· Motorists can expect temporary nighttime lane closures throughout the project.
On US 41 northbound, the outside lane will be closed from 6:30 p.m. on September 29 through 7 a.m. on September 30 from Market Way to approximately 500 feet south of Market Way.
On US 41 southbound, the outside lane will be closed from 6:30 p.m. on September 29 through 7 a.m. on September 30 from Market Way to approximately 500 feet south of Market Way.
On US 41 northbound, the inside lane will be closed from 6:30 p.m. on September 30 through 7 a.m. on October 1 from Market Way to approximately 500 feet south of Market Way.
On US 41 northbound, the outside lane and turn lanes will be closed from 6:30 p.m. on October 1 through 7 a.m. on October 11 from Preto Boulevard to Woodmere Road. Closures will take place Monday through Friday only.
- Motorists can expect crews to be intermittently working in and around the project limits during the day.
Estimated project completion is late 2026.
