About

The US 98 (State Road 15/US 441) project in Okeechobee County includes resurfacing approximately 7.786 miles of roadway from NW 3rd Street to NE 120th Street to improve ride quality and safety. The work involves milling and resurfacing the pavement, upgrading pavement markings and lane markers, and replacing ADA curb ramps to meet accessibility standards. Additionally, new traffic detection loops will be installed at NW 23rd Lane and the North High School entrance to enhance traffic signal responsiveness.

  • SR 15/US 441 from NW 36th St to NE 120th St: Construction project: Crews are performing milling and resurfacing operations during daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Curb ramp replacements, sidewalk installation, and curb and gutter work will also take place at various locations from NW 36th Street to NW 3rd Street during daytime hours, with no lane closures required

    • Daytime: Northbound and southbound single-lane closures will occur as needed between NW 36th Street and NE 120th Street, with traffic reduced to one lane. Lanes in both directions will not be closed at the same time.
    • Nighttime (7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.) will include lane closures from NW 3rd St to NW 36th St to perform signal work, milling, and resurfacing.
    • Motorists should be aware of changing traffic patterns, heavy equipment, and workers present in the construction zone.
    • Use caution when traveling through the area and obey posted signage and flagging operations.

    The estimated remaining duration of activities is 2-3 weeks
