State Road (S.R.) 739 (North Tamiami Trail) from north of the Caloosahatchee River to S.R. 78 (Bayshore Road) Update
LEE COUNTY, Fla. – To our valued community, we are pleased to share regular updates on the ongoing construction of S.R. 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to S.R. 78. We are committed to delivering these safety improvements as quickly as possible while ensuring quality and safety remain top priorities.
Active Detour
Beginning December 1, the eastbound right-turn lanes on Pondella Road onto southbound S.R. 739 (North Tamiami Trail) were closed, and a detour was implemented. While traveling eastbound on Pondella Road, motorists will turn right onto River Road, then left onto Cabana Avenue to access southbound S.R. 739 (North Tamiami Trail).
Pedestrians wanting to cross the road at the intersection should follow the posted detour signage.
Current Work Activities
During the closure, crews have begun removing the existing roadway and drainage structures. Once this work is completed, crews will proceed with installing new drainage structures and restoring the roadway.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to finish this roadway improvement project. Stay tuned for future updates as we make progress on this critical project.
