LAKE PLACID, Fla. – Beginning Monday, May 5, the Florida Department of Transportation will permanently close the median crossover on US 27 at Heartland Boulevard. Drivers exiting Heartland Blvd will no longer be able to cross the median and turn left to travel north on US 27.

Upon completion of the median construction, northbound US27 traffic will be able to use a newly designated left-turn lane to access Heartland Blvd.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and drive with caution through the area. Additional shoulder and lane widening work will also take place during this time.
